Soy Wax and Agape Candles Q & A

Soy Wax and Agape Candles Q & A

What is the white crystalline layer on top of some of my candles?

-This is a process called frosting and happens on top of natural waxes, such as soy only.

Why does my candle frost after burning?

-It is a natural characteristic of soy to reset like that and it’s completely normal

Why does my candle have a rough top after burning?

-This occurs because the hot wax is cooling at different rates of speed. This is a good indication that you have a natural soy wax candle and not a candle mixed with other additives.

Why does my wick have a ‘mushroom’ shape after burning my candle?

-This is a sign you haven’t trimmed your wick! Be sure to trim your wick to 1/4" each time you burn the candle.

Why does my candle appear to have ‘wet spots’?

-What can appear to be wet spots on the sides of your candles are not really wet spots, but rather places the wax has pulled away from the container as it cools. It is caused by the wax cooling faster in some areas than others and is completely normal! This does not affect the way your candle performs.

How do I clean out my glass jar?

-See our ‘reusing your candle jar’ blog post to easy clean out instructions.

I placed my candle order on accident, what now?

-As soon as the order is placed, orders are fulfilled the same day. No refunds will be given for this type of reason. Please think through your order before placing!
Special exceptions MAY be made *rarely* based on Agape’s discretion but are subject to any processing/inquired fees and a restocking fee.

When will I get tracking information?

-Tracking information will be updated same day. You will receive an email with the tracking number the following business day and chances are your package is already in transit to you! Happy smelling!
